3 November 2023, Johannesburg. The Federated Employers Mutual Assurance Company (RF) (Pty) Ltd (FEM), will be exhibiting at this year’s Occupational Health and Safety Conference hosted by The Department of Employment and Labour. The 3-day event, titled “Collaboration and Strategic Approach to Enhance Decent Work in An Evolving World of Work” will take place from the 7th to the 9th of November 2023 in Durban, with a key focus on a community-centred approach driven by improved health and safety measures. Central to the conference is the goal of finding solutions to occupational health and safety challenges and the evolving world of work through shared experiences and expertise of various industry players.

As such, the conference includes notable professionals, experts and government figures in the employment and labour sector, as well as private sector participants. Leading the conference, Chief Director: Provincial Operations, Edward Khumbula will welcome all the esteemed guests. Ms B. Moloi, Deputy Minister of Employment and Labour will share her thoughts on an occupational health and safety strategy, titled “Prepare and Prevent or Repair and Repent.” Mr T.W Nxesi, Minister at the Department of Employment and Labour, will provide a keynote address. His vast experience and knowledge will offer valuable insight under the subtheme “Community Centred Approach to enhance Decent Work.” Peneyambeko Munkawa, an expert in Occupational Safety and Health (ILO Decent Work Team), will also address the audience. Her presentation will focus on “OHS as a Fundamental Principle and Right at Work: What does it mean to business?”
